Alpine Electronics’ New Rear View Camera Products Are Optimized for Truck Use
Torrance, Calif. (Jan. 6, 2016) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. today unveiled a multi-camera controller for use in truck and Jeep applications. The new KCX-C250MC multi-camera controller debuted at the 2016 International CES being held Jan. 6-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It works with several of the company’s rear and front view camera systems.
“We studied how truck drivers use their trucks and found that camera systems are important tools,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “The KCX-C250MC will help them manage multiple camera viewing angles from a central screen in their dashboard.”
The KCX-C250MC is compatible with Alpine’s new 2016 10-inch Restyle dash systems (X110-SLV for 2014-up Chevrolet Silverado, X110-SRA for 2014-up GMC Sierra), 9-inch system (X109-WRA for 2011-up Jeep Wrangler), 8-inch system (X108U for various trucks and SUVs) and 7-inch system (INE-W967HD for universal applications). This module allows as many as three Alpine camera systems to be controlled from the in-dash touch screen, for one-touch viewing of any of the camera images.
Also arriving is the HCE-TG130GM tailgate handle camera system. It is compatible with 2007-2013 GM trucks and consists of a rear view camera system with a tailgate handle surround bezel that will directly bolt-in to replace the stock tailgate handle surround bezel. The camera system has four viewing modes: rear view to back into tight parking spaces; ground view to see the area directly under the camera to help connect a tow hitch; corner view to identify approaching objects when backing out of a parking space; and panorama view to see the entire driveway when backing out. The camera fits flush in a housing below the tailgate handle, for a clean, stealth look. The bezel has LED lighting to provide improved viewing in low-light situations. The tailgate lock can be coded for use with the truck’s ignition key.
Alpine’s 2016 drive assist lineup consists of eight camera systems, ranging from a system featuring multiple viewing angles with audio and video warnings of obstacles, to a system that only offers a direct back-up view.
