Head Units Have First to Market Compatibility with the New SXV100 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner

TORRANCE, Calif., Jan. 6, 2011 - Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is the first consumer products manufacturer to offer head units that are compatible with the new SXV100 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (includes SXV100 Tuner and SiriusXM Antenna). SXV100 provides seamless in-vehicle integration of SiriusXM in a compact, inexpensive and easy-to-install package that does not require any special interfaces or cables. This new module complements three new Alpine products, thereby creating solutions for the Audio/Video/Navigation (AVN) system and 1-DIN head unit formats. For the first time, Alpine will offer an all-in-one head unit/tuner bundle, model CDE-124SXM consisting of an Alpine 1-DIN in-dash headunit and the SXV100 with antenna that comes with everything a consumer needs to upgrade their car stereo and receive more than 135 channels of programming from SiriusXM.

“Alpine is excited to be the first to connect its head units with the SXV100,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “The SXV100’s advanced features and small footprint, combined with Alpine’s sound quality and ease-of-use, gives consumers the opportunity to enjoy SiriusXM and the broad and diverse programming they can only find on satellite radio.”

The SXV100 measures just 3.5 inches x 2 inches x .75 inches. By adding the SXV100 tuner box to a compatible Alpine head unit or by purchasing the CDE-124SXM Alpine bundle, consumers can enjoy commercial-free music, premier sports, news, talk entertainment, traffic and weather information (separate subscription required). The SXV100 universal tuner box increases the number of SiriusXM features previously available for these types of tuners, all of which are fully controlled through the Alpine head unit. These features include:

  • iTunes® Tagging to save song information for later purchase through the iTunes store
  • SiriusXM Replay™ allowing pause, rewind and replay of up to 30 minutes of live SiriusXM content
  • Song Alert™ and Artist Alert™ for notification when a favorite song or artist is playing on any channel
  • Game Alert™ for notification when favorite teams from the NFL, NBA, NHL or college league are playing live

The following 2011 Alpine head units are compatible with the SXV100:

INA-W910 AVN System
The INA-W910 is an AVN system with a 7-inch WVGA motorized display, AM/FM/CD/DVD capability and built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology. It is the first 2-DIN system compatible with the SXV100. When listening to SiriusXM, channel name and number, channel category, artist name, and song name are all visible on the SXV100’s screen. The INA-W910 can store up to 18 SiriusXM station presets. When using navigation on the INA-W910, drivers can select the GuideView Window™, for a picture-in-picture view of the next driving maneuver while still keeping on the SiriusXM audio source screen.

CDE-124SXM CD Receiver with SXV100 tuner bundle
The CDE-124SXM consists of a CD receiver and SXV100 tuner bundled together in one package, providing consumers with an easy and inexpensive way to get SiriusXM in their vehicle. It has a built-in amplifier with CEA-2006 power rating of 18W RMS x 4, a three-band parametric EQ, one pre-amp output as well as the SiriusXM tuner and rooftop satellite radio antenna. It comes with a cable for iPod® or iPhone® connectivity and is compatible with Bluetooth® wireless technology (separate module required).

Other SiriusXM Solutions
Alpine continues to offer Sirius or XM programming for consumers with the INA-W900BT, iDA-X305S or CDA-117 head units. To access Sirius programming, users need the Alpine KCA-SC100 Sirius Satellite Radio interface, along with a choice of either a compatible Sirius Portable and Dock & Play Radio and the SiriusConnect™ Vehicle Kit (SCVDOC1), or the SiriusConnect Vehicle Tuner (SCC1) (separate subscription required). To enjoy XM programming with one of these Alpine source units, consumers can use the XM Direct2 package (CNP2000UCA) that includes the XM Vehicle Tuner and universal programming adapter for the integrated in-vehicle solution (separate subscription required).
